Dr Venkatram Vasantavada is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SeedWorks International Limited (Formerly SeedWorks International Pvt. Ltd). Under his leadership, SeedWorks emerged as one among the top ten pure-play seed companies in India. His demonstrated experience of 32+ years in best-in-class MNCs across Asia and Africa helped build and manage commercial organizations with sustained growth in revenue, profitability, market share gains and geographical expansion. He devoted over 25 years in serving rural markets catering to the needs of small and marginal farmers for improving their farm productivity and farm incomes. Dr. Vasantavada is deeply passionate about building a strong and ethical business around one simple belief: helping farmers boost yields with high-quality, research-backed hybrid seeds. He envisions building a scalable, tech-driven, and farmer-focused seed company that is ready to grow globally.

Dr. Vasantavada has been conferred with several awards including the ‘Most Influential Agriculture Industry Professional’ award at the Agriculture Innovation – Congress and Awards, 2020, ‘Leader with Strategic Vision – Business Transformation’ award at the Agri Business Summit and Awards ABSA 2022, the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ award by the Hyderabad Management Association in 2019.

Dr. Vasantavada is a visiting faculty at several Agribusiness Management Institutes, and IIM(Nagpur) and is associated with Hyderabad Management Association, Federation of Seed Industry of India, CII Regional Agri Council, ASSOCHAM Agriculture & Food Processing Council – Southern Region and Rural Management Association of India (RMAI) in various capacities. He is a Member of Board of studies at Kalinga School of Rural Management, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT)-Deemed to be university Bhubaneswar, Advisor, Board of Studies, Sagar Group of Institutions, Hyderabad and Advisor, Board of Studies-Vignan Jyoti Institute of Management.

A certified six sigma green belt, Dr. Vasantavada is a PhD in Business Management, Chitkara University with a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM) from Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) and a Graduate in Dairy Technology.
