Priya Kumar has over 2 decades of experience in General Insurance, covering Distribution, Product Design, Regulatory Management, Rural & Agriculture, including formation of guidelines with Government in formative years. At SBI General, she is responsible for the Open Market Bancassurance & Government business, she has also established various channels, including Digital, Key Relations Group, Agri & Rural, and currently serves as the EVP and Business Head.

With over 14 years in Crop Insurance, she was the first from a Private Sector insurer to have had the privilege to work with the Ministry of Agriculture, leading the PMFBY Technical Support Unit as National Programme Director. She holds a fellowship from the Insurance Institute of India and a scholarship from Munich Re, served as nominee Director at HDFC Health Insurance. (earlier known as Apollo Munich Health during merger with HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company Ltd.)
