Dr Kalra has worked with Cabinet Secretariat( SSB), Government of India. He continued his education and is now working as Executive Director, Ayurvet Limited and Director AGES. Earlier, he headed the feed business of Ayurvet as its CEO, which is one of the leading Animal Health/Nutrition Care Organization with interest in the allied areas of Soil and Human Health. He has worked extensively in the field of Animal Nutrition especially cattle and poultry.

He has served as President CLFMA Delhi & North Zone & Fellow of Animal Nutrition Association. He is on the panel of CII, PHD Chamber of Commerce, Assocham committees on Dairy/ Agriculture development and Food security/safety.

During his career with Ayurvet, he has worked closely with farmers to share the concept of Ayurveda and its practical application for improving Animal Health. He is recipient of Life Time Achievement Award, Department of AH and Dairying, MOA, Government of India. He has co-authored book on Management of Mastitis. His co-authored book on Hydroponics: Seema Khadya Pahari; received the cash award and appreciation from Ministry of Defense, GOI. He has written several important articles in various leading journals and magazines. He with help of his seniors revived & developed the use of Hydroponics green feed in India and propounded the sustainable model of 5F. He has popularized the use of Ayurveda in Animal Health and Nutrition. This helped the organization to get the awards from TERI, Golden Peacock, Agriculture, Water Digest, Rajeev Gandhi BIS Award, Quality Council of India, NABARD etc.

His current interest involves research & business development, training and developing the youth/farmers towards sustainable integration of Livestock with Agriculture with the objective of inclusive and sustainable growth.
